I've carefully observed this summer collection's dresses signed by Ralph Lauren and I've been struck by the preeminence of some clothes that suggests the sea. That strong sense of freedom that sea can evoke is expressed by the shades and shapes. Colours, first of all: Ralph Lauren plays a lot with the color of the sand, but above all with different shades of blue and white, sometimes combining them, as in the case of this gorgeous silk wallet dress that makes think at the colours of the sea waves:

The sea seems to be more of a physical entity for Ralph Lauren; it represents a concept, an ideal that can be shaped in another form, for example, in an artwork or, as in this case, in fashion too.
